From the Songbirds Youth Theatre, we bring you… Seussical Jr. The inaugural show, featuring a hugely talented young cast, will be performed at the Cardinia Cultural Centre over 3 days, from Thursday, March 14th to Saturday, March 16th. Perfomances begin at 7:30pm each evening, with a matinee on the Saturday from 2:30pm.
A unique opportunity to see some of the Shire’s finest young talent in action, and getting a start on their careers, check out some of the smiling faces who’ll be taking you on a magical, Seussical journey.

Maisie is one of our sassy Jungle Animals, and auditioned for ‘Seussical Jr.’ because she loves acting! She attends The Songbird School of Performing Arts and her favourite musicals are ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ and ‘Wicked’. Maisie became interesred in musical theatre after she saw a play, became mesmerised and just knew she had to try it for herself! She loves the song ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ and thinks you should come see ‘Seussical Jr.’ because it’s a fun show and you’ll be disappointed if you miss it!

Lily is one of our featured dancers, and she takes dance classes at Upstaged and musical theatre and singing at The Songbird School of Performing Arts. Her favourite musical is ‘Matilda’, and one day she would love to play Matilda or a unicorn’! Lily loves Dr Seuss books, so it was only natural that she auditioned fro ‘Seussical Jr.’! In her spare time, Lily loves to boogie and practice her dream role of being a unicorn, and her favourite songs in ‘Seussical Jr.’ are ‘Oh The Thinks You Can Think!’ and ‘Green Eggs and Ham’!

Toby is our Mayor of Whoville, though we promise he’s not so strict in real life- in fact, he’s a bit of a ‘thinker’ himself! He takes classes at The Songbird School of Performing Arts, and would one day love to play Connor Murphy or Evan Hansen from ‘Dear Evan Hansen’, Heather Chandler from ‘Heathers’ or Ms. Trunchbull from his favourite musical, ‘Matilda’! Toby says his favourite line is ‘any line in the show, but only if Harry has said it wrong in the past.’!

Harry is playing his first lead role as Horton The Elephant in ‘Seussical Jr.’! He says auditioning for the show was an instinctive decision about a week before the audition dates and he’s glad he did it! Harry’s favourite musical is ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, but would one day love to play P.T Barnum in ‘The Greatest Showman’ if there was ever a stage adaption! After working backstage and watching his friends enjoying their time on stage, Harry decided to give it a try too and played a Goth in ‘Bring It On’ with his school. He says you should come see ‘Seussical Jr.’ because there is so much energy and fun… ‘except for me, I’m kinda quiet’.
