A new year, a new decade… and a whole new stack of photo competitions! After the amazing entries we had last year, I cannot wait to see what you all have this year!
As promised, there are a few changes… some minor, some… not so minor.

First up… there will not be a photo competition every month. Every third month (March, June, September and December) will be a writing competition tied to the photo competition… rules and how to enter will be announced as per the normal posts at the start of each month. It’s going to be fun!

Second, and after much prompting, toward the end of 2020, a selection of entries from the year, including all of the winners, will be combined into a Calendar for 2021, which will be for sale, with all proceeds going to Cardinia Shire CFA Brigades and SES units (and entrants may choose to opt out of this).

Third; there will be two categories of entries – professional and amateur. In terms of voting, it makes no difference; there will just be two winners each month. In terms of entry, it makes no difference – but please let me know if you are a professional or amateur photographer

Last; there is a maximum of three (3) photo entries per person per competition

Voting will be significantly different this year, and completely private. How to Vote will be announced at the end of each month with all of the entries.

So, that pretty much sums it up, except for the standard Ts and Cs and guff… below:

  1. The photo must be taken within the Shire
  2. The photographer should “Like” the Facebook page (nothing new there)
  3. It runs from the 2nd of the January to Monday, the 27th of January at 5:00 pm..
  4. Photos must be posted (or messaged) to the A Guide to Cardinia Facebook page and tagged “January Photo Competition”, along with where they were taken.
  5. How to vote will be posted on Monday, January 27th at 5:00 pm and will run until Friday, 31st January at 5:00 pm.
  6. The theme for January is Growth
  7. The photograph does not have to be taken in the same month as the competition it is entered in – but each photo can only be entered once.
Let the clicking and the competition begin!
